“ I went to the monthly buffet, and there were a lot of different options. Everything was absolutely amazing. The establishment was clean, and the service was fast and friendly. The 35 price tag was on point for the offerings. The peanut sauce was out of this world! I can't wait to go back to another one of their monthly buffets. ”
“ Wisanggeni Pawon offers a truly delightful Indonesian dining experience. Our waiter's genuine enthusiasm for the menu and his heritage shone through as he described our meals. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Ikan Goreng (Fried Snapper), a beautifully presented whole fish fried to crispy perfection with moist flesh inside, accompanied by fresh vegetables, fragrant rice, and a zesty sambal. I savored the rich and complex flavors of the Rendang Daging, tender beef slow-cooked in a deeply spiced coconut milk sauce, served with fluffy white rice. Beyond the delicious food, the warm service truly stood out. Our waiter's polite and informative descriptions of how the dishes are traditionally eaten added a special touch to our meal, making us feel more connected to Indonesian culture. Wisanggeni Pawon is a fantastic restaurant that we highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic and flavorful Indonesian cuisine served with pride. ”
“ Brilliant place to taste the food of Indonesia ! Smiling service and lip smacking food. We tried a variety of things and every dish was different and tasty. I cannot think of anything we did not like. The durian ice was amazing too! ”
“ An absolute jewel! Best Indonesian cuisine in the Midwest with fantastic authentic options and stellar and robust flavors. They also have Indonesian desserts and snacks. Great service, relaxed vibe, and great food. ”
“ When you first walk in you immediately notice how beautiful the restaurant is. Service was fast, thoughtful, and very pleasant. And of course the food was delicious and nicely plated. I ordered the Grilled Red Snapper and NasI Goreng. Above and beyond. Highly recommend. ”
“ Really great flavors - be prepared for a spicy meal! We tried several dishes and we were happy with everything, but we loved the noodles. Will definitely return. Owners were there and were so kind and helpful, explained dishes and recipes. No alcohol but you can visit the bar next door and bring your cocktail over. ”
“ Great staff, great food. Unique in the area, Indonesian food is savory, spicy and delicious. Spice levels can be customized. Will definitely return. Downside: parking is difficult. ”
“ From the moment you step in you’re greeted warmly by the restaurant owners. It’s a cosy family restaurant suitable for families and friends. So pleasantly surprised to find an authentic family-run Indonesian restaurant just an hour drive from Bloomington! They source their ingredients directly from Indonesia, as evidenced by the mini convenience store that they have in the restaurant where one can stock up on Indonesian goodies. Food is packed with spices and is perfectly balanced. They have the staples like Satay, Rendang, Martabak, Gado-Gado etc. Excellent presentation that leaves me wanting for more! All the sauces are homemade, and food is always made fresh as soon as you order. Plus there isn’t any MSG but it’s still flavourful. We came back twice in a week because we wanted our southeast asian fix. As an Indonesian-Singaporean this is the closest thing to what we have at home. Thank you for this wonderful experience, Pak Aji and Bu Putri. ”
